The aim of RAFSA is to promote aquatic activities throughout the RAF and encourage personal fitness and healthy living through sport. We support 8 Inter Service inclusive teams (Open and Female) across four distinct sports; swimming, water polo, open water swimming and diving.
We hold regular RAFSA fixture events throughout the year, with individual disciplines conducting additional fixtures in between. We hold one internal Championship per year and facilitate Unit level aquatics via the network of OICs and Regional Development Officers.
We offer access to National and International competitions under the RAFSA Swim England registration and both UK and overseas training camps with high-level coaches. We offer development pathways internally to RAFSA and via Swim England coaching and officiating qualifications. We recognise that on-base swimming infra constraints can limit participation, so we strongly encourage and can help all participants to identify local clubs to gain experience and pool time in between RAFSA fixtures.
Want to give Swimming/Diving/Water Polo a go? Come along to our Swimming champs/Development week which we hold at RAF Cranwell each March – you do not need to be part of a team, you can enter as an individual (swimming/diving) or join one of the combined water polo teams.
