RAF Ice Hockey (RAFIHA) embodies the essence of teamwork, resilience, mental well-being, and professionalism. At its core, however, RAFIHA is all about uniting personnel who share a common passion for the exhilarating sport of ice hockey. It’s about the joy of chasing a puck around the ice and having fun together.
Throughout the year, RAF Ice Hockey teams have the exciting opportunity to compete in the RAF Championship and the Tri-Services competition.
These events are ideal for players at all skill levels to gain valuable experience and share their knowledge. The competitions provide a platform for developing and showcasing ice hockey skills while fostering camaraderie among participants.
For those new to the sport or looking to develop their skills, we offer Learn To Play training camps. These camps are designed to encourage grassroots players to explore ice hockey and decide if they want to join one of the regional teams. Held several times a year at Telford Ice Rink, these camps offer focused coaching over a three-day period.
Participants will have the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game and apply their new skills in a full game, providing a comprehensive introduction to the sport.
In addition to domestic competitions and training, we actively seek opportunities to compete and train with international teams. This not only enhances the skill level of the players but also helps build and strengthen positive relationships with other nations, contributing to the future of UK Armed Forces Ice Hockey.
