The RAF Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association is committed to the safe development of its pilots by providing top-quality equipment, expert mentoring, and regular fixtures, including exciting overseas opportunities. Our goal is to support and enhance the skills of all members through structured and engaging activities.
Membership is open to all regular, reserve, and retired members of the Royal Air Force who hold a British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association Club Pilot rating or higher. This ensures that members have the necessary qualifications to participate in and benefit from our programs.
For those interested in joining but not yet qualified, we offer a fantastic opportunity to learn to paraglide for free while on duty through the Joint Service Adventurous Training Scheme. To take advantage of this, simply visit the ATG app within the Defence Gateway. This platform provides information about the training available and allows you to bid for course places, making it easy to start your journey without any financial burden.
Whether you are an experienced pilot or a newcomer eager to learn, we offer a supportive and dynamic environment to develop your skills and experience the thrill of these sports.
For more information on how to get involved, including details on membership and training opportunities, or if you have any questions about the sport, please contact us using the information on this page or explore the resources available on the Defence Gateway. Join us and soar to new heights.
