The RAF’s Riders of the Cresta Run; the most challenging and steepest ice run in the world. Between the valleys of the Swiss Alps, Riders will race up to speeds of 80 mph, head first, on a 35 kg toboggan with their face centimetres away from the ice.
The ¾ mile long ice run that winds its way from above the “Leaning Tower” in St Moritz down a steep gully through 10 testing corners, past the tiny hamlet of Cresta to the village of Celerina. With a total drop of 514 feet, the Cresta Run will challenge your skill, bravery and agility like no other sporting endeavour.
The St Moritz Tobogganing Club Ltd, with its world-wide membership, has always enjoyed a strong partnership with the town and people of St Moritz since the first Run was built in the winter of 1884/1885.
The Run and the traditions surrounding it remain constant, although the toboggans and equipment have evolved. It remains one of the last truly amateur sports.
