Job title: Operations Assistant
Location: Hybrid – working from home with occasional travel to the Fund’s offices in Buckinghamshire and various RAF Stations
Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 plus benefits (30 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, contributable pension, death in service benefit, private health insurance and other health & wellbeing benefits)
About the RAF Central Fund:
We support the RAF through our grants, programmes, partnerships and properties to ensure personnel can access sports and physical activities at all levels. We deliver integral support to military personnel, RAF Stations and RAF Sport Associations – ultimately, we think everyone, regardless of their role, rank, physical ability or competing level, should have access to sports facilities, equipment and training.
About the role:
We are looking for an organised and adaptable individual to support the Fund’s Operations department to provide effective and proactive support. Our charity and our team are evolving, we are looking for an individual who will assist with a broad area of business requirements, some routine and some adhoc. The selected candidate will enjoy a hybrid working environment, based at home with occasional visits to the Fund’s office near Marlow, Buckinghamshire and RAF Stations as required.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing administrative support to the Fund’s departments
- Assisting with the delivery of the Fund’s policies, processes, systems and IT; providing guidance, monitoring requirements and helping to identify new opportunities
- Liaising with staff, users and the Fund’s tech support to ensure that the IT infrastructure is managed appropriately and is utilised effectively
- Assisting with the delivery of support services to the RAF Sports Associations, providing guidance, monitoring activities, reviewing policies, regulations and compliance and actioning changes and developments
- Supporting with the charity’s primary fundraiser, the RAF Sports Lottery; ensuring information and account details are accurate, confirming lottery wins, monitoring and reviewing draw data and supporting with promotional activities
- Assisting with the Fund’s ESG and Net Zero objectives; helping to drive campaigns across the Fund’s activities and properties and collating information and reports
- Supporting with the compliance of the Fund’s data protection and cyber security; providing guidance to staff and volunteers, reviewing compliance and managing the deletion and archiving of records as required
This role profile is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder according to future developments in the charity.
Essential knowledge, experience and skills:
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 software and experience of Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience of working in a small team environment
- Logical thinker with a proactive and positive approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organised with good attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting
- A problem-solving approach to tasks and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience of building and maintaining solid relationships internally and externally
- Full UK driving licence
