RAF Fencing

RAF Fencing Association

The RAF Fencing Union (RAFFU) provide opportunities for the RAF Whole Force to take part in the sport; aiming to develop serving personnel by organising competitions, assisting with coaching and providing support throughout the season at both military and civilian competitions.

Aside from the thrill of sword fighting, fencing has a number of benefits including learning discipline, technique, agility, physical fitness, and overcoming challenging situations under pressure. Fencers build confidence over time as their skill level improves, becoming fitter and stronger.

While fencing gives the body a chance to workout, it also exercises the brain. Practicing fencing enhances your strategy skills by helping you anticipate your opponent’s next move. Increasing your mental awareness in fencing can improve your mental health in the workplace.

RAFFA is fun, inclusive and open to all. We also support fencing at Station Clubs across the UK. For details on your nearest Station Club please contact your Station Gym. For any questions relating to the sport, including how to get involved, please do get in touch.
